Snow day

We had our first snow of the season today! Which meant that all the public school kids didn't have to go to school. Which meant that we spent the day doing a couple of things.

Playing in the snow.

And watching the inauguration of the 44th president of the United States of America. Good-bye Bush....

Hello Obama...

Even though I didn't vote for Obama, I must say that his speech was very moving (good speech writers??). I only hope that Obama turns out to be the Christian he claims to be.

I'll leave you with some more "snow day" pictures.

The herb garden.

Our house, including the big sugar maple that stands at the edge of our driveway.

The chicken coop. We covered the walls of the outdoor run with heavy plastic to keep the winter winds, rain and snow out.

Our 9-year-old Italian greyhound, Leo, takes a quick stroll around the dog yard in his winter coat before heading back indoors where it is warm.

My bundled up snow babies.
