Another day, another Disney park

Early Monday morning we checked out of the hotel and made our way to the Magic Kingdom, one of the four theme parks at Disney World. It's been windy and a bit cold, but we are having fun, anyway. Above you can see my daughter with Cinderella's castle in the background.

The kids really enjoyed Tom Sawyer's island. This is one of my 13-year-old sons' favorite books, and all the boys had a ball at the fort and around the island.

I think it's been my favorite park so far, but we haven't been to the Animal Kingdom park yet. Late yesterday afternoon we checked into our vacation villa and we are now much more comfortable. We have more room to spread out instead of all being stuffed into a couple of hotel rooms. And the kids really enjoy the pool and the gameroom.

We took it easy at the house last night. This morning we were up bright and early to go to another of the Disney World parks, this time "Hollywood Studios." We went on rides like "Star Tours," the Aerosmith Rock "n" Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania, and The Great Movie Ride. Just before we left we watched the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, a 30-minute live stunt show. The kids thought that was really something.

I hate that Hubby isn't with us this week, but I bought him a little something from the Star Tours store. He is a Star Wars fanatic and I know he would have loved this store! Here is Justin on a Star Wars speeder.

I know that birds in tourist areas aren't afraid of people and will often walk to anyone, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this bird (an egret, I think?) walking amongst the people, right at home amongst all the Disney mania.

Our tentative plans are to go back to Hollywood Studios this afternoon and spend the evening enjoying more rides and shows.

My husband is down there right now. If Y'all make it over to the Disney Wide World of Sports where the Braves have Spring Training. my husband will be over on the Minor league fields. He's coaching the AA Mississippi team. If you see him, wave to him for me. He'll probably have Wellman on the back of his jersey.
